Equatorial Guinea

The story behind the answer

Ciudad de la Paz became the capital of Equatorial Guinea on 2 January 2026, replacing Malabo. The new capital is in Djibloho, on the mainland; Malabo is on the island of Bioko.

When revising older atlases or quizzes, check their date: Malabo was the previous capital. The change was established by Decree-Law No. 1/2026.
