Pristina is the capital and largest city of Kosovo, serving as the seat of government and the country’s cultural and economic hub. Located in the Balkans, it houses the parliament, presidency, and major institutions.

Kosovo declared independence in 2008 after a period of UN administration; it’s recognized by many countries, though not universally. Pristina is known for its young population, the University of Pristina, and the “NEWBORN” monument unveiled on independence day. To remember it, think KP: Kosovo–Pristina. The other choices are capitals of Kosovo’s neighbors—Tirana (Albania), Skopje (North Macedonia), and Podgorica (Montenegro)—which helps eliminate them and reinforces Pristina as Kosovo’s capital.
