The story behind the answer

This is the flag of the Republic of the Congo (Congo‑Brazzaville). It uses the Pan‑African colors—green, yellow, and red—symbolizing the nation’s forests (green), wealth and friendship (yellow), and the people’s courage and struggle (red). Adopted in 1959 before independence, it was briefly replaced during the socialist era and restored in 1991.

Memory tip: Among African flags with Pan‑African colors, Congo‑Brazzaville’s is the one arranged diagonally. Don’t confuse it with the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which uses a light‑blue field with a star.
