The story behind the answer

Nicaragua is correct because its flag centers the national coat of arms: a triangle with five volcanoes between two oceans, topped by a rainbow and a Phrygian cap, encircled by “República de Nicaragua – América Central.” The blue–white–blue layout descends from the United Provinces of Central America; blue represents the Pacific and Caribbean, and white symbolizes peace.

Memory tip: think “Nica = volcano vista + rainbow in a triangle.” It’s the only option with that distinctive triangle-and-rainbow emblem. By contrast, Uruguay shows a Sun of May, the Dominican Republic has a prominent cross, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines uses three green diamonds.
