Saudi Arabia is correct because the flag features the Islamic shahada (creed) above a sword—distinctive elements tied to the kingdom. The green background is traditionally associated with Islam.

As the birthplace of Islam and home to Mecca and Medina, Saudi Arabia places the creed (“There is no god but God; Muhammad is the Messenger of God”) at the heart of its flag. The sword symbolizes justice and the unification under the House of Saud. Out of respect for the sacred text, the flag is never flown at half-mast and isn’t printed double-sided.
