The story behind the answer

Solomon Islands is correct. The five white stars symbolize the nation’s five main island groups, while blue stands for the surrounding Pacific, green for the lush islands, and the yellow band for tropical sunshine—an easy mnemonic: “Five-star Solomons under sun, sea, and green.”

A Pacific nation east of Papua New Guinea, the Solomons gained independence from the UK in 1978. Its capital, Honiara, lies on Guadalcanal, famous for pivotal WWII battles. To remember this flag among regional neighbors: unlike New Zealand or Tuvalu, there’s no Union Jack, and unlike Vanuatu’s bold black-red-green, the Solomons use a sunny diagonal yellow band with five stars.
