Centaurs are mythic beings with a human head, torso, and arms joined to the body of a horse—literally half-human, half-horse—so they’re the correct answer. In Greek myth, they often represent the clash between reason and instinct.

Most centaurs are portrayed as unruly and wine-loving (think the battle with the Lapiths), but Chiron is a famous exception: a wise healer and tutor to heroes like Achilles, Asclepius, Jason, and Heracles.
