The story behind the answer

Rowena Ravenclaw founded Ravenclaw house at Hogwarts, valuing intelligence, wit, and a love of learning. While Helena Ravenclaw was her daughter (later the Grey Lady ghost), she was not a founder, and Godric Gryffindor and Helga Hufflepuff founded their own houses.

Ravenclaw’s symbols—an eagle and the colors blue and bronze—reflect high aspirations and clear thinking; its common room even requires solving a riddle to enter.
