Star Wars · Question

What is the name of the Jedi Order’s main temple city-planet during the prequels?

Answer

Coruscant

The story behind the answer

Coruscant is the Galactic Republic’s capital world, an ecumenopolis whose skyline includes the Jedi Temple’s five spires, home to the High Council, Archives, and training facilities during the prequel era. By contrast, Naboo is Padmé Amidala’s lush homeworld, Ilum is the icy source of kyber crystals for Jedi lightsabers, and Dantooine hosted an older Jedi enclave (and later a Rebel base) but not the Order’s main temple in the films.

Interesting context: the Temple was built atop a powerful Force nexus (a “vergence”), symbolizing the Jedi’s central role in galactic affairs. During Order 66, clone forces stormed the Temple and its distress beacon was weaponized to lure surviving Jedi into a trap. Under Imperial rule, the complex fell under Imperial control, marking the end of the Jedi’s public presence on the galactic capital.
