The story behind the answer

Born to Leia Organa and Han Solo, he was named “Ben” in honor of Obi-Wan “Ben” Kenobi. Manipulated by Supreme Leader Snoke, he abandoned his birth identity and adopted the dark-side persona “Kylo Ren,” eventually leading the Knights of Ren.

Distractors: Ben Skywalker is a Legends-only character (Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade’s son); “Ben Organa” would use Leia’s surname, but in canon he carries his father’s; and Han Solo is his father, not his given name. As the grandson of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, his legacy and inner turmoil drive much of the sequel trilogy’s narrative.
