The story behind the answer

Parrots are identified by their strong, hooked bills and zygodactyl feet (two toes forward, two back), perfect for climbing and cracking seeds and nuts. Their upper beak can move independently of the skull, giving extra bite strength and dexterity. This separates them from similar options: toucans have oversized, flat-looking bills; hornbills often show a casque on the bill; kingfishers have long, straight, spear-like bills for fishing.
