Turkmenistan is correct. The crescent and five stars reflect Islam and the country’s five regions, while the distinctive vertical band of carpet “guls” honors the five major Turkmen tribes and their famed carpet-weaving tradition. Green is a traditional Turkmen and Islamic color.
