The story behind the answer

This is Vietnam’s flag. The red field symbolizes revolution and sacrifice, while the large gold star represents national unity and the five key groups building the nation: workers, peasants, soldiers, intellectuals, and youth. It was first flown during the August Revolution in 1945 and became the national flag after reunification in 1976.

Memory tip: think “one golden star for a united people” on a bold red background—distinct from China’s multiple small stars. By contrast, Pakistan features a green field with a white crescent, Kuwait has the Pan-Arab colors with a black trapezoid, and Uzbekistan shows blue-white-green stripes with a crescent and stars.
