Uganda — World Flags

Name the country

🇺🇬

Answer

Uganda

The story behind the answer

Uganda’s flag is recognized by its six black–yellow–red bands with a crested (grey crowned) crane at the center, the country’s national bird. Black symbolizes the African people, yellow the equatorial sunshine, and red the brotherhood uniting Africans; the crane’s raised leg signifies forward movement. Adopted at independence in 1962, the design traces to the Uganda People’s Congress, while the crane had long been a cherished emblem for its grace and calm.

Memory tip: think “B‑Y‑R twice with a crane.” Among the choices, only Uganda’s flag features a bird; Mozambique shows an AK‑47, Rwanda a golden sun, and Guinea‑Bissau a black star—so the crane is your giveaway.
