What medieval movement criticized the Church and is linked to Jan Hus?

The story behind the answer

Because it was inspired directly by the Czech reformer Jan Hus, whose preaching against indulgences, clerical corruption, and the supremacy of papal authority sparked a broad religious and social movement in Bohemia. After Hus was executed at the Council of Constance in 1415, his followers rallied around calls for reform, notably communion in both kinds (bread and wine) for laypeople, challenging key Church practices.

The movement reshaped Central Europe through the Hussite Wars (1419–1434), where commanders like Jan Žižka used innovative wagon-fort tactics to defeat multiple crusades. It split into moderate Utraquists and radical Taborites, culminating in the Compactata of Basel, which granted limited concessions. Its theology and defiance of Rome foreshadowed the Protestant Reformation and later influenced Martin Luther.
