When did Norway get its constitution?

The story behind the answer

1814 is correct because Norwegians wrote and adopted their constitution at Eidsvoll on May 17, 1814, after the Napoleonic Wars and the Treaty of Kiel forced Denmark to cede Norway to Sweden. The constitution declared Norway an independent kingdom with a separation of powers and civil liberties. Although Norway soon entered a union with Sweden, it kept much of this liberal constitution, which became the foundation of its political life.
