Pancreas is correct because its beta cells, clustered in the islets of Langerhans, produce insulin. After you eat, insulin helps move glucose from the bloodstream into muscle and fat cells and signals the liver to store glucose as glycogen, keeping blood sugar in a healthy range.

The pancreas has a dual role: it secretes digestive enzymes into the small intestine (exocrine) and releases hormones like insulin and glucagon into the blood (endocrine). Failure to make insulin (type 1 diabetes) or to respond to it (type 2) leads to high blood sugar. To remember: insulin keeps sugar “in” cells—think “insul-in.” The liver mainly stores and processes nutrients, the kidneys filter blood, and the stomach produces acid and digestive enzymes, not insulin.
