Science General · Question
The "Tibia" is found in which part of the body?
Answer
Leg
The story behind the answer
Leg. The tibia, commonly called the shinbone, is the larger, stronger bone of the lower leg. It bears most of the body’s weight, forming the knee joint with the femur above and the ankle joint with the talus below. It runs alongside the thinner fibula, which provides stability and muscle attachment.
Remember it this way: “Tibia = Tread-on bone,” because it’s the main weight-bearing bone you stand and walk on. If you’ve ever had shin splints, that aching line along the front of your lower leg is your tibia letting you know it’s working hard. It’s also the second-longest bone in the body after the femur.
