How many degrees make a full circle?

The story behind the answer

A full circle measures 360 degrees because one degree is defined as 1/360 of a complete turn. You can see this by adding four right angles (4 × 90°) around a point or by fitting six equilateral triangles (each 60° at the center) around a point: 6 × 60° = 360°.

Why 360? Ancient Babylonians used base-60 math and approximated a year as about 360 days; 60’s many divisors made splitting circles convenient. To remember: think of a “360” in skating or video games—a full spin. Also recall the turn family: quarter-turn 90°, half-turn 180°, full turn 360°.
