Who is the Gungan leader that Jar Jar serves?

The story behind the answer

Boss Nass is the rotund, deep-voiced ruler of the Gungan city Otoh Gunga in The Phantom Menace; Jar Jar, a banished Gungan, ultimately serves under his authority and is later pardoned. Don’t confuse him with Captain Tarpals, who is a Gungan military officer; Padmé Amidala, a human Queen of Naboo; or Senator Palpatine, Naboo’s human senator and secret Sith.

His initial isolationism gives way to alliance when Padmé seeks Gungan help, uniting Naboo and Gungans against the Trade Federation. In gratitude, he elevates Jar Jar to general, and the Gungan army’s energy shields become pivotal in the Battle of Naboo. The character’s commanding presence is enhanced by Brian Blessed’s booming performance.
