The story behind the answer

Only one Jedi Master in the films wields a purple lightsaber, first seen in Attack of the Clones. The others here carry different colors: Obi‑Wan’s is blue, Anakin’s is blue before he becomes Vader, and Yoda’s is green—so the violet blade uniquely identifies this council member.

Portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson, the distinctive color originated from the actor’s request so he could spot himself in large battles. In Legends, the hue reflects his rare Form VII (Vaapad), channeling aggression without falling to the dark side; in current canon, it simply results from a kyber crystal aligned to him.
